As a backgrounder, pathos is one of the three modes of a persuasive rhetoric. It is the ele ment that appeals to the emotions of the audience. Logos, on the other hand, is the element that appeals to the logical side of the audience. It is also one of the three modes of a persuasive rhetoric.
